This was an ask my personal blog got and I answered it thinking it was for The Adventures of Plushtiel. Whoops. Anyways, the answer belong here, not there. Would any of you be interested in making a small food or cash donation get a picture with Plushtiel at NJCon?

If I can make it to Chicon, oh heck yes! Everyone, you should try to, too! It’s for a great cause.

Hey everyone, Plushtiel would like to answer this one, so Mama’s going to let her little Godstiel take the wheel.
Hello everyone. I guess I shall start at the beginning, with a most remarkable event. I had been living in Canada with a lovely librarian. One day she tearfully hugged me goodbye, put me in a box, and sent me to America.
After a week of travel, my box was suddenly opened and I was face-to-face with a teary eyed ginger. Immediately, I felt loved. I listened as she read the note the librarian had included in my box, and I learned a startling fact.
This red-head clutching me to her chest had been raped, and I had been sent as a gift to aide in her recovery. We took our first photo together, and after seeing how happy I made her, I vowed I would not leave her side until she was better.

Quickly I was introduced to the other stuffed animal in her life, a angel teddy bear aptly named ‘Mrs. Bear’.

We became friends. She said she was happy I had been sent to help because she didn’t know how many more sleepless, frightened nights she could handle. Her fur had started to become matted down from the tears. I promised her I would help in whatever way I could.
Since that day the two of us have worked together to make our ginger feel better, no matter what it took. I would comfort her during the struggles she’d face during the day, and Mrs. Bear would handle the insomnia at night. However, most evening I still sneak into bed and sleep with them.

After becoming situated in her home, my ginger and I slowly started to go out into the real world again. I discovered she had a messenger bag with the logo “Random Acts” on it that she kept with her at all times. Since I was now going to travel with her everywhere as well, I became acquainted with the inside of it and learned that she drank Pepsi Max more than water.

Then, our first big issue happened. My red-head had to go downtown and testify before a judge in order to get a restraining order granted against the man who raped her. Her rape advocate got stuck in traffic, and she started to panic that she was going to be totally alone.
But I was there, and together we went before the judge, and let me tell you, she did great. The judge granted her the entire two year restraining order, and afterwards we took a celebratory picture together over the Chicago River.

After that hurdle, my ginger and I settled into a routine. I went with her everywhere. I learned that she liked to do ‘random acts of kindness’ with an organization called Random Acts, and I even helped her make sandwiches.

I learned her favorite television show was Supernatural, and that I bore a striking resemblance to a character named Castiel. But she told me I was her guardian angel, and I knew that she had started to heal.

I was there on her first day back at work, a moment she very much dreaded. But I learned she watches children in an After-School Care and knew that her kids would help her heal just as much as I was.

Now, my ginger had been covering her head with hats in public, because she still felt scared. But the best thing happened on the first day she felt comfortable to go out without covering up her lovely red hair; her after-care was visited by baby chicks! Together we got a picture, and she laughed like she hadn’t laughed since before the attack.

And now, when she feels overwhelmed or upset, we go on bicycle adventures instead of wallowing in bed! She has a 13 mile route that would put most people to shame!

So I hope that answers your question Anonymous. My ginger does take me everywhere with her, although at first I was the one taking her out into the real world with me. She calls this blog “The Adventures of Plushtiel” when in fact I think it should be called “The Adventures of a Survivor and her Plush Friend”. I’m so grateful I was sent to her, and I think she’s pretty fond of me too.

The end.
